Not a Consumer Reporting Agency. This website is not a consumer reporting agency as the Fair Credit Reporting Act (FCRA) defines the term. Information here, and information on any third-party tool linked from this site, may not be used for decisions about credit, employment, insurance, tenant screening, or any other purpose the FCRA covers. Background checks for those purposes must go through a screening provider that complies with the FCRA.
Privately Operated Reference Site
This site is run privately. We are not a court, a sheriff's office, or any government agency, and no government body endorses or sponsors us. We do not issue warrants, serve warrants, or keep any official warrant system. We pass along the contact details and the steps that lead to the 92nd District Court, the 11th Circuit Court and County Clerk, and the Sheriff's Office, because those are the offices that hold Mackinac County records.
Public access to those records runs through two different authorities. Court files follow MCR 8.119, which is the rule that governs inspection and copying of a case file. Records held by a county agency outside the courts are requested in writing under the Michigan Freedom of Information Act, MCL 15.231 et seq. A records request is not a warrant-status check, and it will not clear anything.
Accuracy of Information
Courts and sheriff's offices change phone numbers, hours, addresses, fees, and procedures with little notice, and warrant data moves throughout the day. We work to keep these pages current, but we cannot promise that every detail is correct at the moment you read it. Before you drive to a counter or send a payment, call the office and confirm.
Warrant Status Changes - Verify Before You Rely
A warrant is a living record. One can be issued, recalled, quashed, served, or sealed, and its status may change within a day. A search that comes back clean is not proof that no warrant exists. A warrant may not be entered yet, may sit with a different court, or may never appear on a public list at all. A listing you saw last week may say something different today. Before you act on a warrant's status, or on its absence, confirm the record with the issuing court or the Sheriff's Office.
Treat any warrant result as a starting point rather than the final word. Only the issuing court or the Sheriff's Office can confirm that a warrant currently exists and whether it has been recalled, served, or sealed.
Verify With the Official Source
Nothing on this site is an official record. When a decision turns on a warrant's status, its charge, its bond, or whether it has been cleared, get the answer from the office that keeps the file: the issuing court or the Sheriff's Office. Michigan offers no public statewide warrant search to shortcut that step, since LEIN is limited to authorized agencies and ICHAT does not carry warrant information.
Not Legal Advice
Nothing on this site is legal advice. We point readers to resources and describe how warrants generally work in Mackinac County, but a website cannot replace a licensed Michigan attorney, especially when an outstanding warrant, a surrender, a bond, or the effect of a warrant on your situation is at stake.
Third-Party Search Tools
Some pages here carry search boxes operated by outside companies. We do not control what those tools return, how they price their services, or how they handle the data you submit. Their results may be incomplete, out of date, or matched to the wrong person, and the same FCRA restrictions described above apply to them.
Outbound Links
We link to court portals, sheriff's office pages, state agencies, and other resources. We are not responsible for the content, accuracy, or availability of any site we do not run.
No Records on This Site
This site hosts no warrants, no warrant lists, no case files, and no court records. We point readers to the offices that hold those records. To confirm an actual warrant, you have to check with the issuing court or the Sheriff's Office.
Frequently Asked Questions
Can you tell me if there is a warrant for me?
No. We do not host or maintain any warrant system. The official answer comes from the issuing court or the Sheriff's Office. You can begin with a warrant check or by calling the court.
Does a clear result mean I have no warrant?
No. A clear result is not proof that no warrant exists. Warrants are added, recalled, served, and sealed, and some never appear on a public list. Confirm your status with the court or the Sheriff's Office.
Who can clear or recall a warrant?
Only the court that issued the warrant can recall or clear it. Speak with an attorney and the issuing court.
